The San Diego Zoo Safari Park has recently welcomed three adorable bat-eared fox kits, born to first-time mother Winter and father Teddy.

These tiny newcomers are now beginning to emerge from their den, offering visitors a delightful glimpse into their early development.

Bat-eared foxes, native to eastern and southern Africa, are renowned for their distinctive large ears, which can grow over five inches tall.

These ears not only enhance their hearing but also help regulate body temperature.

In the wild, these foxes primarily feed on insects, with termites making up a significant portion of their diet.

At the Safari Park, the kits have started to eat solid food, showing a particular fondness for mealworms.

Both parents are actively involved in raising the kits.

Father Teddy, despite being a first-time dad, is diligently protecting and caring for his family, while mother Winter ensures the kits are well-fed and nurtured.

Visitors can observe this charming family in the Nairobi Village area of the park.

As the kits grow, they will spend more time outside the den, learning essential foraging skills from their parents.

For those planning a visit, the current weather in San Diego is partly sunny with temperatures around 68°F (20°C), making it an ideal time to experience the park's newest additions.

Don't miss the opportunity to witness these endearing bat-eared fox kits as they embark on their journey of discovery at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.
